Background & Qualifications
Almost a decade of working with young people — from wilderness summer camps in the USA to one-to-one support in the classroom. Safeguarding children has been at the forefront of every decision I make. Ensuring optimal fun & engagement along the way! Explore my timeline to learn more about me.
- 2018 - Senior Mentor @ The National Citizen Service:
Having worked closely with 16 year-olds on a four-week government-funded programme supporting the personal & social development of young school leavers. From cooking contests & fundraising for care homes to pitching ideas in front of panels, compromising with the young people was at the heart of building quick, trusted relationships — gearing young people up for real life scenarios beyond education.
- 2019 - Camp Counsellor @ Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Centre:
Having spent three months at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Centre, in the USA, working around the clock & hosting a different group of young people each week. We swam in lakes, hiked, camped in the wilderness, canoed & ziplined amongst the trees — all centred around the environment & educating the youth of America on how to protect & preserve nature. No one child goes home with an empty toolbox, nor do they go home without positively impacting their surroundings.
- 2021 - Camp Manager @ Super Camps:
Managing up to 60 children & overseeing the work of staff on camp, ensuring every child was safe, engaged and having fun — from ongoing risk assessments & behaviour monitoring to handling unexpected medical & behavioural emergencies, whilst reporting back to parents & senior staff.
- 2022 - 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
Working on a one-to-one basis, managing EHCPs (Educational Health Care Plans) ranging from behavioural matters, specific learning needs & neurodevelopmental conditions. Alongside private schools, I currently support families with drop-offs, pick-ups, after-school hobbies and any required half-term help. Being a nanny is what I love most — it never truly feels like work!
- Today - Sensory Room Host @ Wembley National Stadium:
On event days I host the Sensory Room at Wembley Stadium, a private box for children & adults with disabilities or additional needs who find it difficult to be amongst the general crowd — a well designed, inclusive space with immersive sensory equipment, tailored to every guests needs.
